We encourage you to Ask Us if we have washed our hands or used Purell® hand sanitizer before we care for you.

One of the most basic and important practices to assure safe patient care is hand hygiene. Proper hand hygiene is the most effective way to reduce and prevent healthcare-acquired infection.  We must tackle this basic patient care issue. We will demonstrate our commitment to patient safety by accepting nothing short of excellent hand hygiene practices for every patient, every time.

At Hartford Hospital, we expect our staff to follow proper hand hygiene practice
and to remind others to do the same.
