Hartford Hospital has received the American Stroke Association’s Get With The GuidelinesSM – Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Silver Performance Achievement Award. For the third consecutive year, U.S.News & World Report has named Hartford Hospital’s Institute of Living among the nation’s top psychiatric facilities, ranking at number 19. For the third consecutive year, Hartford Hospital has been named one of the nation’s 100 Most Wired hospitals according to Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, the journal of the American Hospital Association. In addition, Hartford Hospital has been named among the nation’s top 25 Most Wireless hospitals. Most Wired hospitals show better outcomes in patient satisfaction, risk-adjusted mortality rates and other key quality measures. (more) |

Hartford Hospital Named a "Blue Distinction" Center for Complex and Rare Cancers

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut has named Hartford Hospital as one of its Blue Distinction Centers for Complex Rare CancersSM. There are only 84 such centers designated in the United States, and only two in Connecticut. Complex and rare cancers comprise approximately 15 percent of new cancer cases each year, making it difficult for patients to locate research facilities with oncologists or surgical teams that are experienced in treating these specific malignancies. Hartford Hospital a National Leader In Heart Attack Care

Hartford Hospital does a better job of treating and saving the lives of heart attack patients than the average U.S. hospital and outperforms national institutions ranked highest for cardiac care. Newly-released 2007 data show that Hartford Hospital had significantly better results compared to all participating hospitals and to best-practice institutions in treating patients with the most common type of heart attack.
