The Physician Liaison facilitates two-way communication between community physicians and Hartford Hospital.

Luisa Machado, Hartford Hospital's Physician Liaison, serves as a personal contact for physicians or their practice managers in order to address problems, issues or concerns that need attention.  This effort promotes a positive relationship between the hospital and the medical staff. The information shared with the Physician Liaison is highly valued and is used by the Hospital in planning and evaluating services and programs.

The Physician Liaison assists new medical staff members with the following:

• Obtaining access to the hospital’s information services network for clinical information, e-mail, intranet access, etc.

• Connecting from the physician's home or office to the hospital’s network.

• Working with physicians and their staff to conduct community education programs.

• Managing the hospital's online physician directory.

• Participating in the Doctor Referral Service so that new patients may be referred.
