Mission Statement
The Performance Development Center (PDC) supports the professional and personal growth of employees. This development process includes instruction and consultation provided by a network of internal and external professionals supplemented by a collection of enduring materials housed in the Performance Development Center.
Activities
The PDC schedules and supports the center’s curriculum. It supports the online HealthStream training and coordinates New Employee Orientation sessions.
Performance Development Classes and Workshops
Performance development enables employees to reach their full potential to advance the Strategic Plan, improve patient/customer satisfaction, improve quality of products/services, and influence financial management. The PDC encourages participants to demonstrate, monitor, and evaluate learning on the job, encourage participants to sustain learning overtime and develop a pool of qualified internal applicants for new roles.
The Performance Development Collection
The PDC has a collection of self-learning materials that include books, manuals, newsletters, articles, audiotapes, videotapes and CD-ROMs. These materials focus on the behaviors and skills that support the Hospital's Ten Values. This collection is housed in the Robinson Health Science Library where these materials may be checked out.
Online Healthstream Training
Employees may call PDC for assistance in completing their yearly online HealthStream training by calling 860-545-3985 or emailing mfurlow@harthosp.org.
New Employee Orientation
New Employee Orientation is held three Mondays out of each month throughout the year in meeting room 118 in the Jefferson Building (JB118) and in the Conklin Building Auditorium on special occasions. Orientation begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m.
Department Consultation
The PDC contracts with organizational development consults who assess organizational situations and develop strategies and action plans to address the identified opportunities.
Location
The PDC is located on the 2nd floor of the ERC Building, Room 235. The PDC Collections of self-learning materials are housed in the Robinson Health Sciences Library.
Office Hours
The PDC is open and staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
