Medical Plans
You may enroll in medical coverage if you are a full-time or part-time employee of Hartford Hospital scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week. If you are a new employee, you have 30 calendar days from your date of hire to enroll in medical, dental and/or vision benefits. The core benefits you elect will go into effect the first of the month after 30 days of employment.
Aetna Choice® POS II Plans There are three Aetna Choice® POS II Plans. These point-of-service plans offer comprehensive coverage and the freedom to receive care from any licensed provider. You decide each time you need care (at the “point of service”) whether to receive care from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) or from another in-network or out-of-network provider. Selecting a PCP to provide and coordinate your care is optional, not required.
Under the three Aetna Choice POS II Plans, employees have three levels to choice from, each has a different premium cost, and your out-of-pocket costs for care also differ between the three plans.
Aetna HealthFund® HRA Plan The Aetna HealthFund® Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) plan is a new kind of health plan offering greater flexibility in how you use your health benefit dollars. Aetna HealthFund HRA is a “consumer-directed” health care option that encourages you to make smart health care decisions by giving you the tools you need to be an informed consumer of health care and to manage the cost associated with the care you receive.
